Prisma Button now with localisation sound
Prisma Button Elbow Switch now gains a long-awaited and important new feature: built-in localisation sound. By activating DIP switch 4, it emits a clear sound that helps people with visual impairments find their way all the way to the door opener. The sound is specifically designed to differ from pedestrian crossing signals, preventing confusion.
A step towards even better accessibility
This update builds on the major improvement that Prisma Button received in 2016, when the product was adapted to healthcare hygiene requirements and enhanced with a focus on being easy for everyone to use. Accessibility is not only about how the button works once you reach it – but also about how you find it.
Designed for real-life situations
Prisma Button Elbow Switch is designed to be usable by everyone:
- whether you are short or tall
- even when your hands are full
- even if you use a walker or other types of support
- even in stressful or physically challenging situations
The wide activation surface and robust construction make it easy to activate the door with an elbow, forearm, or whatever works in the moment.
Guidance that makes a difference
In some environments, there is visual or tactile guidance in the floor, but this is not always sufficient. That is why many have requested a localisation sound — a feature that is now available directly in the product. The sound makes it possible to orient yourself correctly even when vision is limited or the environment is complex.
Towards a more inclusive society
With the new sound function, Prisma Button takes another important step in our efforts to create a more accessible society where more people can move independently and safely. Everyone should be able to open a door — and now it becomes even easier to find it.
