Visit by the Swedish Association of the Visually Impaired
On Wednesday, November 15th, the Swedish Association of the Visually Impaired (SRF) visited PrismaTibro. It was a productive meeting where both parties exchanged information and knowledge. We found it particularly interesting to learn more about the challenges that visually impaired individuals face in their daily lives and in society today.
PrismaTibro’s Collaboration with SRF
The collaboration with SRF has been highly valuable for PrismaTibro over the years, especially considering the development of our pedestrian signal Prisma Daps. Many of the accessibility features that Prisma Daps offers today have been developed in collaboration with SRF, such as:
- Relief symbols – a tactile map of the intersection
- Vibrator with push function/RFID tag that extends the green light duration
- Spoken messages that can alert if the traffic signal system is malfunctioning, for example
- Locating sound
